Klippitztörl

Klippitztörl is a winter sports resort located in the Saualpe mountain range in Carinthia, southern Austria, rising to over 1,800 metres above sea level. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the ski area offers slopes suited to both beginners and more experienced skiers, alongside winter walking trails and cross-country skiing routes. The region is characterised by its typical southern Austrian alpine forest scenery, with snow-covered pine woods and views over the surrounding Carinthian valleys. Outside the winter season, the Saualpe area becomes a popular spot for hiking and mountain biking, thanks to a network of marked trails winding through forests and mountain pastures. Its proximity to towns such as Wolfsberg and Klagenfurt makes it easy to combine a mountain stay with exploring Carinthia's cultural heritage, including castles and alpine lakes nearby. Klippitztörl remains a modest yet genuine destination, mainly favoured by Austrian visitors and those from neighbouring German-speaking countries, who come in search of unspoilt natural surroundings and year-round outdoor activities.
