Annaberg - Lungötz

Annaberg-Lungötz is a municipality in the Austrian state of Salzburg, located in the Pongau district at the foot of the Dachstein massif. The village takes its name from its pilgrimage church dedicated to St Anne, a site notable for its traditional Salzburg-style architecture. The area forms part of the Dachstein-West ski resort, which links several mountain villages and offers alpine skiing, cross-country trails and snowshoeing routes in winter. In summer, the region provides an extensive network of hiking and mountain-biking trails across alpine meadows and surrounding woodland, with views towards the limestone peaks of the Dachstein range. The surrounding landscape remains shaped by mountain farming, with numerous traditional farmhouses and chalets scattered throughout the valley. The alpine climate ensures reliable snow cover in winter and mild summers, ideal for outdoor pursuits.
