Lofsdalen

Lofsdalen is a mountain resort located in the province of Härjedalen, in central Sweden, set within a landscape of boreal forest and typical Scandinavian upland terrain. Best known for its ski area, it draws winter sports enthusiasts each year thanks to slopes suited to both beginners and more experienced skiers, alongside extensive cross-country trails winding through the surrounding woodland. The region also offers good conditions for snowmobiling and snowshoeing during the colder months. Outside of winter, Lofsdalen becomes a popular base for hiking and mountain biking, with direct access to trails running through unspoiled natural areas where local wildlife, including reindeer and elk, can often be spotted. The climate is continental, with long, snowy winters and short, mild summers. Accommodation mainly consists of cabins and holiday homes, well suited to family and nature-focused breaks, set within a quiet, sparsely built-up environment away from Sweden's larger towns and cities.
