San Teodoro

San Teodoro is a coastal town on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, in the historic region of Gallura, near Olbia. The area stretches along a shoreline renowned for its white sandy beaches, particularly La Cinta and Cala Brandinchi, the latter locally nicknamed 'little Tahiti' for its clear turquoise waters. Facing the coast lies the island of Tavolara, an imposing limestone massif that dominates the seascape. Inland, the San Teodoro lagoon (Lu Impostu) forms a protected wetland where pink flamingos can be spotted. The surrounding landscape, typical of Gallura, combines granite formations, Mediterranean scrubland and cork oak woods. Over the decades, San Teodoro has become a popular summer holiday destination, offering numerous seafood restaurants, shops and lively evening entertainment during the season. Olbia airport, around twenty kilometres away, provides convenient access to the region. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, is well suited to seaside and water-based activities such as diving, sailing and boat trips out to Tavolara.
