Domaso

Domaso is a small village on the western shore of Lake Como, in Lombardy, valued for its peaceful setting and direct access to the water, particularly popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers thanks to the steady winds that blow across this part of the lake. From Domaso, it's easy to explore neighbouring villages and discover the rivers flowing down from the surrounding mountains, where you can wade upstream and jump from small natural waterfalls, a refreshing activity in summer. The area also offers lovely opportunities for cultural excursions: the Piona Abbey, near Colico, is well worth a visit, as is a trip to Como to wander through its historic streets. Further south, Bellagio and Varenna, two iconic lakeside villages, along with Villa Carlotta and its gardens, round off a visit to the region nicely. Locally, for a simple and affordable bite, Premium Pizza serves good pizza at reasonable prices. The local market and the Iperial shop are also handy for picking up a few souvenirs before heading home. Domaso remains a quiet base from which to explore Lake Como.
