Marina di Caronia

Marina di Caronia is the coastal hamlet of the municipality of Caronia, located on the Tyrrhenian coast of the province of Messina, in Sicily. This seaside village lies at the foot of the medieval hilltop town of Caronia, overlooked by its castle, while the lower part opens directly onto the Tyrrhenian Sea. The shoreline alternates between sandy and pebbly beaches, framed by typical Mediterranean vegetation found along this stretch of the Sicilian coast, between the Nebrodi Mountains and the sea. Among the natural features nearby is the Grotta delle Colombe, a sea cave reachable from the coast, popular for a boat trip or a swim on fine days. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers ideal for swimming and water sports, and mild winters. Marina di Caronia makes a peaceful base for exploring the nearby Nebrodi Regional Nature Park, as well as Sicily's northern coastline, with its coves, small harbours and fishing villages, away from the bustle of the island's larger seaside resorts.
