Lascari

Lascari is a small coastal village in the province of Palermo, Sicily, conveniently placed for exploring several of the island's major sights. Cefalù, with its Norman cathedral and lively old town, is around 20 minutes away by bus, while Palermo can be reached in 40 minutes by train, offering its markets and architectural heritage. Nature lovers will enjoy the Zingaro nature reserve, with its coves and coastal paths, as well as a trip to Mount Etna, a little further afield but well worth it for its volcanic scenery. History enthusiasts may also consider the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, although it involves a longer drive. Locally, Sicilian cuisine takes centre stage: Km196 is a restaurant worth trying, known for its home cooking and good value for money. In Cefalù, it's pleasant to sit on the terrace at Bordomari for a cocktail overlooking the sea. Between wandering through historic lanes, beach time and cultural day trips, Lascari makes a practical base for exploring northern Sicily.
