Castellammare del Golfo

Castellammare del Golfo is a small coastal town in the province of Trapani, Sicily, built around a fishing harbour overlooked by a castle of Arab-Norman origin. The seafront, lined with colourful fishing boats and steep lanes leading up to the historic centre, retains the typical atmosphere of a Sicilian fishing village. The surrounding area is known for its turquoise waters and coves, particularly around Scopello and the Zingaro nature reserve, both easily reached by car. A popular day trip leads to San Vito Lo Capo, about an hour's drive away, renowned for its white sandy beach and shallow, clear waters, one of the most loved spots on the island.
