Bibione

Bibione is a seaside resort on the Veneto coast, in the province of Venice, located at the mouth of the River Tagliamento opposite Lignano Sabbiadoro. It is known for its long, fine sandy beach stretching nearly eight kilometres, backed by dunes and the extensive Bibione Pineda pine forest area, a quieter, greener district compared with the lively town centre. The resort has a thermal spa complex, the Terme di Bibione, which draws on saline, bromine- and iodine-rich waters used for wellness and therapeutic treatments. The seafront and pedestrianised streets of the centre are lined with shops, restaurants and ice-cream parlours, while a network of cycle paths links the various districts and runs along the coast towards the river. A water park, Aquasplash, adds to the family-oriented offering. The resort remains very popular in summer with Italian, German and Austrian families, drawn by the shallow, safe waters. Venice lies roughly an hour's drive away, making day trips straightforward. The Mediterranean climate brings warm, sunny summers, ideal for beach holidays from June to September.
