Sutivan

Sutivan is a small coastal village on the northern coast of the island of Brač, in central Dalmatia, facing Split, to which it is connected by ferry. The village has retained the charm of a traditional fishing port, with pale stone houses typical of Dalmatian architecture, a seafront lined with pines and palm trees, and small pebble beaches suitable for swimming. Brač, the largest island in Dalmatia, is well known for its white stone, used in numerous monuments, as well as for the nearby Zlatni Rat beach in Bol. From Sutivan, day trips can be arranged to other parts of the island or to mainland Croatia, notably to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its cascading turquoise lakes and waterfalls. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers, making it well suited to water-based activities such as sailing and windsurfing, thanks to the local winds. Sutivan therefore offers a quiet, authentic setting, ideal as a base for exploring both the island of Brač and some of Croatia's major natural attractions.
