Novigrad/Zadar

Novigrad/Zadar is a small coastal town in Dalmatia, set on the shores of the Novigrad Sea, close to the city of Zadar. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider region: Zadar's old town, with its historic lanes, the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun monument, is well worth a visit, as are the town's famous seafront sunsets. The surrounding area offers plenty of boat trip options to the Kornati Islands and their unspoilt archipelago, as well as to Split and Trogir further south. Nature lovers head to Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Parks, two of Croatia's most notable natural sites, known for their waterfalls and turquoise waters. Along the coast, beaches such as Meka Draga offer clear waters for swimming, framed by the rocky coves typical of the Adriatic, with a few simple places nearby to grab a bite. The Mediterranean climate, warm and dry in summer, makes for ideal conditions for outdoor activities, sailing and discovering the Dalmatian coastline throughout the tourist season.
