Groznjan

Grožnjan is a medieval hilltop village in inland Istria, Croatia, just a short drive from the Adriatic coast. Dating back to Venetian times, it retains a distinctive character with cobbled lanes, stone houses and remnants of its old town walls. The village has long been known for its artistic vibe: numerous studios, galleries and craft shops now occupy former dwellings, earning Grožnjan its nickname as the 'village of artists'. Grožnjan makes a peaceful base for exploring inland Istria, within easy reach of villages such as Motovun and Buje, while still being a manageable distance from the resorts along the western coast.
