Krasica Buje

Krasica is a small village in the Istrian hinterland, part of the Buje municipality in north-western Croatia, close to the Slovenian border and the Dragonja river valley. This typical Istrian hamlet is set within a gently rolling landscape planted with vineyards and olive groves, reflecting the traditional agriculture that has shaped the wider region for centuries. The town of Buje, often nicknamed the balcony of Istria for its sweeping views over the surrounding countryside, lies just a short drive away and features characteristic Venetian architecture along with a historic hilltop centre. The area around Krasica offers a peaceful setting well suited to nature lovers, hikers and cyclists, with relatively easy access to the Adriatic coast, including Umag and its beaches. The wider region is also known for its wine and olive oil production, as well as the white truffles gathered in the nearby woodlands. Krasica therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore rural Istria, combining local gastronomy, hilltop villages and vine-covered landscapes.
