Trstenik

Trstenik is a small coastal village on the Pelješac peninsula, in southern Dalmatia, within the Dubrovnik-Neretva region of Croatia. Set at the head of a sheltered bay, it offers a peaceful, authentic setting away from the bustle of larger seaside resorts. The village lies at the heart of the Pelješac wine region, well known for producing quality red wines from the Plavac Mali grape, grown on the sun-drenched slopes nearby. The pebble beaches and clear Adriatic waters are ideal for swimming and watersports, while the surrounding hills invite gentle walks among vineyards and olive groves. The village retains a traditional character, with stone houses typical of Dalmatian architecture. Trstenik makes a convenient base for exploring other spots on the peninsula, such as Orebić or Ston, the latter renowned for its ancient walls and salt pans. The Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, supports a laid-back summer tourism scene centred on relaxation, wine discovery, and local cuisine featuring fresh fish and regional produce.
