Biscarrosse lac

Biscarrosse lac refers to the lakeside area of Biscarrosse, in the Landes region, bordering the Biscarrosse-Parentis lake, one of the large Landes lakes connected by a channel to the Atlantic Ocean. This resort area lies between the lake and maritime pine forests, offering a natural setting well suited to water sports such as sailing, water-skiing, paddleboarding and freshwater swimming, complementing the ocean beaches just a few kilometres away. The town retains strong ties to the history of seaplane aviation, reflected in the Musée de l'Hydraviation, which highlights Biscarrosse's role in the development of French aeronautics during the 20th century. The town centre offers shops, markets and restaurants serving Landes specialities, including duck breast and oysters from the nearby Arcachon basin. Cycle paths through the forest provide easy access to the lake, the coast and neighbouring villages. The mild oceanic climate encourages visits from spring through autumn, with unspoilt scenery of dunes, ponds and pine forests typical of the Aquitaine coastline.
