Guillaumes

Guillaumes is a mountain village in the Haut-Pays area of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, nestled in the Var valley. Sitting at around 800 metres above sea level, it serves as a gateway to the Mercantour National Park. The village preserves the remains of the Château de la Reine Jeanne, a former fortress overlooking the settlement and a reminder of its medieval past linked to the House of Savoy. Nearby lie the striking Gorges de Daluis, renowned for their dramatic red rock formations, popular with hikers and lovers of natural scenery. The surrounding region offers excellent opportunities for outdoor pursuits, including hiking, mountain biking, and observing alpine wildlife.
