Le Tronchet

Le Tronchet is a village in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany, just a few kilometres from Combourg and around twenty kilometres from Saint-Malo. The village is best known for its lake, around which a leisure centre and walking or cycling trails have been developed. The nearby Mesnil forest also provides a wooded setting well suited to country walks. Le Tronchet is home to a well-regarded golf course in the region, offering several courses that attract golfers from across Brittany. The commune enjoys a peaceful, rural setting typical of inland Brittany, while remaining within easy reach of popular coastal and heritage sites such as Saint-Malo, Dol-de-Bretagne and Mont-Saint-Michel, all under an hour's drive away. The climate is oceanic, with mild summers and temperate winters, making outdoor activities enjoyable for much of the year. Le Tronchet therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore both the Breton countryside and the region's main heritage and coastal attractions.
