Locquirec

Locquirec is a small town in Finistère, set on a peninsula between the English Channel and the Côtes d'Armor, roughly halfway between Morlaix and Lannion. This Breton village retains a strong maritime character, with a sheltered harbour and fine sandy beaches bordered by the GR34 coastal path, popular for seaside walks. The Saint-Jacques church, notable for its Italian-inspired domed bell tower, reflects the area's religious heritage. The town also has a thalassotherapy centre, in keeping with the seaside tradition of Brittany's northern coast. The surrounding area is well suited to water-based activities such as sailing, kayaking and shellfish gathering, as well as exploring the rocky coves and headlands typical of this stretch of coastline. The temperate oceanic climate allows for pleasant stays throughout much of the year, with mild summers and relatively gentle winters. Locquirec also makes a good base for discovering the Pink Granite Coast and the neighbouring villages of the Trégor region, amid unspoilt natural surroundings of heathland, dunes and classic northern Breton seascapes.
