Hendaye

Hendaye is a seaside resort in the French Basque Country, located at the south-western tip of France on the Spanish border, where the Bidasoa river meets the Atlantic opposite Hondarribia. The town is known for its long sandy beach, one of the largest on the Basque coast, popular for swimming and water sports such as surfing. The Hendaye-Plage seafront brings together shops, cafés and seasonal activities, while the harbour area and the Txingudi bay offer a quieter setting, ideal for strolls and watching the local fishing boats. Nature lovers can explore the Corniche basque, a coastal path linking Hendaye to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, as well as the grounds around the Château d'Abbadia perched on the cliffs.
