Peyragudes Peyresourde

Peyragudes Peyresourde, a French-Spanish ski resort nestled between the Col de Peyresourde and the Pic du Hourgade, spans the villages of Germ, Cazaux-Fréchet and Val-Louron in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Known for its high-altitude airstrip where helicopters occasionally land, the resort overlooks a valley dotted with mountain lakes that make for lovely walks, particularly towards Lake Peyragudes or the paths around the pass. In both summer and winter, the ridgeline provides excellent conditions for paragliding, with panoramic take-off points over the Pyrenean range. Thrill-seekers will also enjoy the Skyvall, a giant zip line offering a heart-pounding descent above the slopes. A few kilometres away, the Balnéa thermal spa complex in Loudenvielle rounds off a stay nicely, with its outdoor pools and mountain setting, perfect for unwinding after a day of activity. The region, famous for hosting the Tour de France as it climbs the Col de Peyresourde, retains an authentic Pyrenean character, blending pastoral traditions, mountain sports and thermal bathing.
