Les Houches

Les Houches is a village in Haute-Savoie, nestled at the foot of the Mont Blanc massif just a few kilometres from Chamonix. It occupies a strategic position on the Tour du Mont Blanc, an internationally renowned hiking route, and serves as a popular stopover for walkers following the trail via the Col de Voza. The ski resort, more family-oriented than Chamonix, offers a varied ski area suited to all levels and is home to the Kandahar piste, well known for hosting top-level alpine skiing events. The Bellevue cable car provides access to the high pastures and connects with the Mont Blanc Tramway, offering sweeping views of the Aiguille du Goûter and Dôme du Goûter. In summer, the Prarion area and surrounding forests are ideal for walking and mountain biking. The village retains a traditional alpine character, with its church and timber-built hamlets. Its proximity to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Chamonix makes shops, thermal spas and more extensive tourist facilities easily accessible, while Les Houches itself maintains a quieter, more residential atmosphere.
